ChatGPT’s mobile app hits new milestone of $3B in consumer spending
TikTok Shop has launched digital gift cards in the US, letting users send between $10 and $500 to friends and family to spend across products on the app. Rolled out during the holiday season, the move puts TikTok Shop in more direct competition with Amazon and eBay, as TikTok continues to push deeper into e-commerce, including recent expansion into luxury retail. The gift cards are delivered by email, require a TikTok account to redeem, and can be personalised with animated designs for different occasions, with the balance instantly added to the recipient’s TikTok Balance. More personalisation is coming in early 2026, including video messages and interactive unboxing features. The launch follows a strong Black Friday and Cyber Monday result, with TikTok Shop reporting over $500 million in US sales across four days, though the platform’s future in the US remains uncertain as a potential ban looms if its American operations are not sold by the January 23, 2026 deadline. Here are 5 reasons why it matters:
TikTok is locking in gifting behaviour, not just impulse buys: Digital gift cards shift TikTok from “scroll and buy” to “think of us when you need a present”. That’s a behavioural upgrade that platforms like Amazon have benefited from for years.
It keeps money inside the TikTok ecosystem: Once a gift card is redeemed, the balance sits in TikTok. That increases repeat purchases, reduces friction, and makes users far more likely to buy again instead of jumping to another marketplace like eBay.
Creators and sellers get indirect customer acquisition: Every gift card is essentially a referral. Someone new comes in, browses content, discovers creators, and often spends more than the card value. That’s cheap distribution at massive scale.
It strengthens TikTok’s position as a serious commerce player: Gift cards are boring infrastructure, which is exactly why they matter. This signals TikTok Shop is building long-term retail foundations, not just chasing viral product moments.
It accelerates social commerce as a category: Adding gifting, personalisation, and soon video messages blends entertainment, emotion, and spending in one flow. That’s something traditional e-commerce players struggle to replicate, and it raises the bar for how online shopping works going forward.
ChatGPT launches a year-end review like Spotify Wrapped
ChatGPT has launched a year-end recap feature called “Your Year with ChatGPT,” similar in spirit to Spotify Wrapped. Rolled out by OpenAI, the feature is available in select English-speaking markets including the US, Australia, the UK, Canada, and New Zealand, and is open to Free, Plus, and Pro users who have chat history and saved memories enabled and meet a minimum usage threshold. The experience gives users a personalised look back at how they used ChatGPT throughout the year, complete with playful graphics, usage-based “awards” like Creative Debugger, plus a custom poem and image reflecting their interests. It’s designed to be lightweight, privacy-forward, and fully optional, and is accessible via the web and mobile apps, or by directly prompting ChatGPT to generate the recap. Team, Enterprise, and Education accounts are excluded from the feature. READ MORE

Tutorial: How to make this Christmas 2026 Calendar image using Nano Banana PRO🍌
Step 1: Step 1. Open Gemini - Nano-Banana PRO 🍌
Step 2. Upload Your Image
Step 3. Paste this Prompt and make it yours
Use the uploaded reference photo as the main subject. Match the person’s face one to one with the reference image. Do not stylise, beautify, exaggerate, or alter facial features or identity in any way. Only adjust lighting and colour to fit the scene. Create a high-resolution 2026 Christmas-themed calendar poster with a premium, elegant aesthetic. The reference person stands on the right side of the composition, wearing a refined Christmas outfit such as a deep red velvet dress or tailored festive attire with subtle gold accents. The look is classy and timeless, not cartoonish or novelty. Expression is calm, confident, and warm, suitable for a luxury Christmas campaign. Background features a rich Christmas palette of deep reds, emerald greens, soft golds, and warm cream tones. Include elegant holiday elements such as softly lit Christmas trees, subtle bokeh fairy lights, gold ornaments, pine branches, and gentle snowfall texture in the background. No clutter. Everything feels polished and premium. On the left and surrounding areas, display a full 2026 calendar in an elegant gold serif font. The year “2026” appears clearly at the top. Weeks start on Sunday. Calendar layout is clean, balanced, and highly legible. Ensure the calendar dates are accurate and exact with the following structure:
JANUARY (31 days): Starts Thursday, ends Saturday FEBRUARY (28 days): Begins Sunday, ends Saturday MARCH (31 days): Begins Sunday, ends Tuesday APRIL (30 days): Begins Wednesday, ends Thursday MAY (31 days): Begins Friday, ends Sunday JUNE (30 days): Starts Monday, ends Tuesday JULY (31 days): Starts Wednesday, ends Friday AUGUST (31 days): Starts Saturday, ends Monday SEPTEMBER (30 days): Starts Tuesday, ends Wednesday OCTOBER (31 days): Starts Thursday, ends Saturday NOVEMBER (30 days): Starts Sunday, ends Monday DECEMBER (31 days): Starts Tuesday, ends Thursday Lighting is soft and cinematic with a warm Christmas glow. Gold typography contrasts clearly against the festive background. The final image should feel suitable for a luxury wall calendar or corporate Christmas gift. Ultra-detailed, sharp focus, studio quality lighting, vertical poster format, 4:5 aspect ratio, no watermark, no extra text.
Enjoy!
