Anthropic raises $13B Series F at $183B valuation

Anthropic has raised $13 billion in a Series F round at a $183 billion valuation, led by Iconiq, Fidelity, and Lightspeed, with backing from major investors including BlackRock, Blackstone, and Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund. The company plans to use the funding to expand enterprise adoption, grow internationally, and deepen its safety research. Anthropic’s growth has been rapid, with annual recurring revenue climbing from $1 billion to $5 billion this year, a customer base of over 300,000 businesses, and large accounts growing nearly sevenfold. Its developer tool Claude Code alone has surpassed $500 million in run-rate revenue, with usage up tenfold in just three months. The raise, following a $3.5 billion round at a $61.5 billion valuation earlier in 2025, underscores investor confidence as Anthropic looks to stay competitive with rivals like OpenAI and Cursor, though CEO Dario Amodei admitted discomfort with funding ties to authoritarian sovereign wealth funds.
