NEWS FOR THE WEEK

OpenAI has revealed plans for the launch of GPT-5 last week, a more streamlined and versatile AI model that integrates technology from its canceled o3 model. GPT-5 will simplify OpenAI's offerings by eliminating the need for users to switch between different models. It will feature advanced capabilities such as voice interaction, a visual canvas tool, integrated search, and enhanced research capabilities. Access to GPT-5 will vary by subscription tier: free users get standard intelligence, Plus subscribers get a more advanced version, and Pro subscribers get the highest level of intelligence. Before GPT-5, OpenAI will release GPT-4.5 (Orion), which will be the last model without self-checking reasoning abilities. READ MORE

• Unified Intelligence: OpenAI aims to eliminate the model picker, focusing on a unified AI system that “just works.”

Elon Musk's 'smartest AI on earth' ready for take-off!

Elon Musk is set to unveil Grok 3, his next-generation xAI chatbot designed to challenge ChatGPT. Scheduled for a live demo on Tuesday at 3pm Sydney time, Musk claims Grok 3’s advanced reasoning capabilities have already outperformed all current AI models in testing.
