NEWS FOR THE WEEK

Google’s AI Mode is interacting with information in new ways!

Google is expanding access to AI Mode in Search Labs, removing the waitlist for users in the U.S. and introducing new features that help users ask more complex questions and make decisions more easily. AI Mode supports long, detailed queries and follow-up questions, offering rich results like visual product and place cards with real-time info including reviews, prices, local availability, and directions. It also now helps users return to previous searches through a left-side panel on desktop. AI Mode draws from Google’s massive Shopping Graph and local business data, and a limited public test is also starting outside of Labs. READ MORE

Why it matters and how can we adapt to this change:

  • Enhanced Search Capabilities – Users can now ask more specific and complex questions, getting clearer and more actionable answers.

  • Improved Decision-Making – Visual product and place cards help users confidently choose items or businesses with up-to-date ratings, prices, and stock info.

  • Better User Experience – Follow-up questions and the ability to revisit past searches streamline long-running tasks like trip planning or product comparisons.

  • Access to Real-Time Data – With over 45 billion listings updated hourly, users get highly relevant and current info from both local and global sources.

  • Wider Availability – Removing the waitlist and expanding testing beyond Labs shows Google’s push to mainstream AI-assisted search.

Anthropic lets users connect more apps to Claude

Anthropic has launched two major updates for its AI chatbot Claude: Integrations and Advanced Research. Integrations allows Claude to connect with external apps like Atlassian, Zapier, PayPal, and others using Anthropic’s MCP protocol, enabling deeper work context, automation, and enhanced capabilities. Advanced Research expands Claude’s ability to perform in-depth research by crawling internal and external sources, including local drives, and delivering detailed reports with source citations in 5 to 45 minutes. These features, currently in beta for Claude Max, Team, and Enterprise users (and coming soon to Pro), aim to keep Anthropic competitive with rivals like OpenAI and Google. READ MORE

How to 100x ChatGPT’s memory (Inspired by subreddit)

1️⃣ Go to ChatGPT
2️⃣ Type this Prompt:
“Let’s reverse roles. Pretend you are me, [INSERT Your name], and I am ChatGPT. This is going to be an exercise so that you can learn the tone, type of advice, biases, opinions, approaches, sentence structures etc that I want you to have. When I say “we’re done”, I want you to generate me a prompt that encompasses that, which I can give back to you for customising your future responses. Now, you are me. Take all of the data and memory that you have on me, my character, patterns, interests, etc. And craft me (ChatGPT) a prompt for me to answer based on something personal, not something asking for research or some objective fact. When I say the code word “Red”, i am signalling that I want to break character for a moment so I can correct you on something or ask a question. When I say green, it means we are back in role-play mode.”

Use Cases:
Training ChatGPT to write your Notes, emails, or newsletters in your tone

Onboarding a new tone fast (e.g. sarcastic, blunt, casual)

Helping it learn how your memory works. (not just what you say, but how you think when you say it)
