Gmail debuts a personalized AI Inbox, AI Overviews in search, and more

Levantaās new Affiliate 3.0 Consumer Report reveals a major shift in how shoppers blend AI tools with human influence. Consumers use AI to explore options, but when it comes time to buy, they still turn to creators, communities, and real experiences to validate their decisions.
The data shows:
Only 10% of shoppers buy through AI-recommended links
87% discover products through creators, blogs, or communities they trust
Human sources like reviews and creators rank higher in trust than AI recommendations
The most effective brands are combining AI discovery with authentic human influence to drive measurable conversions.
Affiliate marketing isnāt being replaced by AI, itās being amplified by it.
Gmail debuts a personalized AI Inbox, AI Overviews in search, and more
Google has announced a major Gmail update that brings deeper AI into how people read, search, and write emails. The headline feature is a new AI Inbox that gives users a personalised overview of what actually matters, instead of a long list of unread messages.
The AI Inbox includes two main sections. One highlights suggested to-dos, such as bills due or actions you need to take. The other groups topics to catch up on, like purchases, deliveries, or financial updates, organised by category.
Gmail search is also getting AI Overviews, letting users ask natural language questions like who sent a quote last year and get instant answers pulled from their inbox. On top of that, Google is rolling out a built-in Proofread tool, similar to Grammarly, to improve clarity, tone, and word choice with one click.
Some features are limited to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, but others like Help Me Write, AI summaries for long threads, and suggested replies are now available to all users. OpenAI to acquire the team behind executive coaching AI tool Convogo
OpenAI is acquiring the team behind Convogo, an AI tool used by executive coaches, consultants, and HR teams to automate leadership assessments and feedback reports. This is an acqui-hire, not a product acquisition.
OpenAI is not buying Convogoās technology or IP. Instead, the three co-founders will join OpenAI to work on its AI cloud initiatives under an all-stock deal. Convogoās product will be shut down as part of the move.
Convogo started as a hackathon project inspired by an executive coach wanting to reduce time spent writing reports and focus more on human coaching. Over two years, it was used by thousands of coaches and partnered with major leadership development firms.
The founders said their core insight was not just building AI tools, but closing the gap between rapid model improvements and real-world professional outcomes. They believe purpose-built AI experiences are the key, which aligns with OpenAIās direction.
This marks OpenAIās ninth acquisition in a year. In most cases, products are either absorbed into OpenAIās ecosystem or discontinued, with the main exception being its ongoing AI hardware collaboration with Jonny Iveās io Products. The story was reported by TechCrunch.
